How the polio epidemics vanished.

We are told by the World Health Organisation that the polio is nearly exterminated - and that in the four years from 1994 to 1997 that there were only 8 cases of polio in the SE/E Asia region - but this is their graph for the number of cases of Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) for the same period and the same region. AFP was called polio at the time when the vaccines were developed against polio- but after disccovering the vaccine was ineffective against most cases of polio/AFP, they simply renamed the disease. There is no clinical difference between cases of AFP with the polio virus present or without the polio virus present - it is identical as far as paralysis, pain, disability and treatment is concerned - down to the same damage of the same cells. AFP and polio are thus, clinically the same disease. The presence of this virus thus seems an irrelevancy - it certainly is not the cause of the disease called polio at the time that it was given the name of "poliovirus. Likewise the polio vacine is not stopping the disease it originally targetted.
As these statistics reveal, the number of cases of the disease once called polio is instead sharply increasing.
